The fall 2026 season has kicked off with one of those series that leaves no one indifferent. FX Fighter Kurumi-chan began airing in Japan on October 1, and we now know how many episodes it will have: 12 in total. This was revealed by the well-known leaker SugoiLITE, although the production committee has not made an official announcement.

This means the series will be with us for the entire quarter: October, November, and December. A standard length that leaves us wondering if there will be more. It will depend on the reception, manga sales, and Blu-ray sales, according to reports.

A Story of Revenge with Trading as the Backdrop

The anime adapts the manga of the same name written by Demunyan and illustrated by Daisuki Tansan, published by Media Factory. The protagonist is Kurumi Fukuga, a girl marked by a tragic event: her mother got into the foreign exchange market, known as FX, seeking profits through margins.

The move went wrong. She used the family's funds and ended up with a debt of 20 million yen after a company went bankrupt. Desperate, she took her own life. Now in college, Kurumi has not forgotten what happened. Her goal is to recover the money her mother lost using the same method, without measuring the risk she takes by entering that world.

It's a premise that blends drama and finance, something uncommon in seasonal anime. And with a tone that surprises due to the darkness of its starting point.

Where to Watch and Who's Behind It

Crunchyroll is streaming the series in simulcast as FX Fighter Kurumi-chan. Each new episode arrives on Thursdays, with the first one already available since October 1. In Japan, it premiered at 9:30 p.m. JST on AT-X and later on other Japanese television channels.

The studio in charge is Passione, under the direction of Yūki Ogawa. Composition and scripts are handled by Kenta Ihara, while Kazuyuki Ueda is credited with the main character designs. Supporting characters are by Saki Fujita and Yūma Yokomatsu.

The music is composed by Takurō Iga. Voice actress Aina Suzuki performs both theme songs: the opening, titled FX Fighter Kurumi-chan, and the ending, $・¥・€. A title that leaves no doubt about the central theme.

With 10 compiled volumes published and the story still ongoing, there is more than enough material to continue if the series performs well. For now, it's time to enjoy these three months and see how Kurumi navigates the risky world of trading.
