Free 'Operation Advanced' DLC for 007: First Steps is now available
Includes New Game+, 00 difficulty, photo mode, and the Valhalla protocol with the Aston Martin
IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios released Operation Advanced today, the new free DLC for 007: First Steps. The content addresses the most repeated community requests since the game's launch and is now available to download on all platforms where the game is available.
The main course is New Game+, which unlocks after finishing the campaign on any difficulty. It lets you start from scratch or resume from any checkpoint with all outfits and gear already unlocked. The idea is to relive Bond's story with the wardrobe you like best, without losing what you had already unlocked.
Alongside this mode comes 00 difficulty, designed for those seeking a real challenge. Enemies react faster to bodies and suspicious movements, some guards are replaced by tougher variants, and gear usage is limited by enemy line of sight. In combat, two hits are enough to kill you, and the window to block or dodge is much stricter. The good news: 00 difficulty and custom matches can be combined freely, so everyone can adjust the challenge to their liking.
The Aston Martin Valhalla finally arrives
The Valhalla protocol was announced before launch and is now playable. It puts the Aston Martin Valhalla on the roads of a mountainous area of Slovakia, with four distinct missions between day and night. The car is equipped with the weaponry Bond uses in the main campaign, and you must eliminate targets and earn time bonuses to improve your score.
There is also a new tactical simulation mission set in Vietnam. Bond returns to the luxury Pearl Hotel resort to infiltrate a heavily guarded villa and steal confidential documents. The map can now be fully explored, including rooftops, and the villa has been redesigned to offer more stealth options. Additionally, tactical simulation missions now include more weapons: the entire main campaign arsenal.
Photo mode and combat adjustments
The full photo mode was one of the most requested features and it's finally here. It's activated with a button at any time and gives you full control over the camera, with options to hide the interface, pose the character, adjust framing, brightness, filters, and even choose backgrounds or logos. It's useful for capturing everything from the chess table at the Grand Carpathians hotel to the neon streets of Aleph.
Another notable change: the classic shove to throw enemies from heights is no longer exclusive to Bond. Now enemies can do the same to the player, so it's wise to watch where you stand during combat.
007: First Steps is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon.com, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will arrive in March 2027. The DLC is completely free and is now available to download.
