Elden Ring comedy manga gets a special chapter based on Nightreign

The manga ELDEN RING: The Road to the Erdtree released today, October 4, 2026, the first part of a special chapter that completely changes its setting. Instead of the Lands Between, the story moves to the world of Elden Ring Nightreign, the franchise's spin-off.

The chapter was published on COMIC Hu, the free web magazine where the series is serialized. For now, only the first part of the special is available, so the story is left halfway through.

This manga adapts the Elden Ring universe with a much lighter tone than the original game. They are short stories that imagine what would have happened if the NPCs had experienced certain situations in the Lands Between. Each chapter has a different protagonist.

The Nightfarers arrive in the manga

The special begins with the Nightfarers gathered at the Roundtable Hold. They defeated a three-headed beast, but the threat of the night does not end there. To face the next Nightlord, they try to get to know each other better and understand each other's abilities.

The problem is that not everyone wants to cooperate. The Recluse refuses to socialize and keeps a closed-off attitude. Everything changes when she encounters an enemy called the Tuning Monster.

The manga plays with the same formula as always: what if Roderika talked to the others at the Roundtable Hold? What if the Rogue got tired of shrimp? What if Alexander fought a Tree Sentinel? Those absurd or endearing possibilities are the basis of the series.

A spin-off that keeps growing

Elden Ring Nightreign was released in 2025 as a cooperative game focused on surviving the night. It reuses enemies and areas from Elden Ring, but with a structure of quick matches for three players.

The main manga has two collected volumes published so far. The Nightreign special has not been confirmed whether it will be collected in a separate volume or if it will be part of the third volume.

The second part of the special does not have an announced date yet. We will have to wait for the next issue of COMIC Hu to see how the Recluse's encounter with the Tuning Monster ends.
