Dragon Ball Super: Beerus comes to Netflix with the first three arcs remastered
Toei Animation's new version premieres in October 2026 in India, following its run in Japan and a screening at New York Comic Con.
Toei Animation confirmed this October 1 that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will premiere on Netflix in October 2026. The series arrives after its broadcast in Japan and an exclusive screening at New York Comic Con on October 8.
The news has us hyped through the roof. This isn't just any new anime: it's a reconstruction of the first three arcs of Dragon Ball Super, with improved animation and newly recorded voice acting. For those of us who grew up watching Goku, this is like reuniting with an old friend, but in new clothes.
The announcement came with a teaser on social media where Beerus awakens on Earth and sets out to find Goku. The question Toei poses is direct: can the Saiyan and his allies stop the God of Destruction? We already know the answer, but we still want to see it again.
Which arcs Dragon Ball Super: Beerus covers
The series is not a simple rebroadcast. Toei Animation redid the original material with redrawn sequences, re-rendered footage, additional cuts, and a reconstructed narrative. There's also updated music and renewed sound effects.
These are the three arcs it adapts:
- The God of Destruction Beerus arc, which introduces the villain and his search for the Super Saiyan God.
- The Resurrection 'F' arc, featuring the return of the emperor of evil.
- The Universe 6 arc, which expands the world of Dragon Ball with fighters from another universe.
The story begins years after Majin Buu's defeat. Earth is at peace and Goku keeps training, unaware that Beerus has awakened from a long slumber. The God of Destruction heard about a mysterious Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza and wants to find him.
When and where to watch it
For audiences in India, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be available on Netflix. The producers confirmed the October 2026 premiere, but there's still no exact date or time. The total number of episodes and its broadcast schedule haven't been announced either.
What we do know is that the project honors Akira Toriyama's legacy. The new narrative aims to stay closer to the concepts of his original work, while presenting familiar material in an updated format.
For now, there's no confirmation of a Latin American release. We'll have to wait for Netflix to announce whether the series reaches our region with a Spanish dub. Given the franchise's track record, it most likely will, but nothing is official yet.
Do you think this remastered version will surpass the Dragon Ball Super we watched between 2015 and 2018? Tell us in the comments if you'll watch it as soon as it drops.
