Distrito Manga reprints Otherside Picnic volume 9 due to pagination error

Distrito Manga confirmed that the ninth volume of Otherside Picnic went on sale on September 17 with a pagination error affecting its first two chapters. The publisher is already reprinting the volume, and the corrected edition will be ready in a week. Those who purchased the defective copy will be able to request an exchange once the new print run reaches bookstores.

This is not the first time a volume has been released with this type of flaw in the Spanish market, but it is striking that the problem went unnoticed for almost a month. The volume has been in stores since mid-September, and until now nothing had been announced. The publisher has not provided details on how many copies are affected or whether the error is limited to part of the print run or the entire batch.

A manga of creepypastas and urban legends

Otherside Picnic is an adventure and mystery manga written by Iori Miyazawa and illustrated by Eita Mizuno. The story follows Sorao Kamikoshi, a shy girl who discovers a door to another world while investigating alleged paranormal activity. In that place, known as the "Otherside," she meets Toriko, a young woman searching for a missing friend. The creatures that inhabit that world are born from creepypasta ghost stories and internet urban legends.

Distrito Manga began publishing the series in Spain in February 2024. So far, it has released nine of the sixteen volumes the series has in Japan. Each volume costs 9.95 euros and is presented in paperback with a dust jacket, in a 128 x 182 mm format.

How to request an exchange

The publisher has not yet specified the exact procedure for requesting the corrected edition. It has only indicated that exchanges can be requested once the new reprint reaches bookstores. Logically, readers will likely need to go to the store where they bought the volume or contact Distrito Manga directly.

It remains to be seen whether the publisher will provide more information in the coming days or if buyers will have to fend for themselves. Meanwhile, volume 9 remains on sale with the error, which does little to avoid confusion.
