Dandadan 247: Bamora Gets a Giant Body Due to a Kaiju Suit Malfunction

The fight against the chimera dinosaur takes an unexpected turn with Bamora's accidental transformation and Aira's plan to attack the joints.

Juan Castillo 10 October 2026

Chapter 247 of Dandadan just gave Bamora an upgrade nobody asked for: a giant body. Her kaiju suit, repaired by Mantisian, malfunctions just as she tries to transform to help Aira and the Evil Eye against the chimera dinosaur. Instead of the kaiju she knows how to control, Bamora grows into a colossal version of herself.

The scene is pure Dandadan. The on-screen error, her teammates in shock, and Bamora more excited than scared. She doesn't waste time complaining about the malfunction. She discovers she can move normally and decides to use her new size right away. Why lament a failed transformation when the result is a giant upgrade?

The problem with being giant without protection

But there's a catch. The suit is still malfunctioning, which means Bamora doesn't have the protection it would normally provide. When she blocks the dinosaur's tail with her arm, she gets hurt. Aira warns her that even a small wound could be lethal.

That warning adds tension to what initially seems like a comedic power-up. Bamora has the size to face the monster, but she can't charge in head-on and expect to win. Her first attempt to strike the creature's knee using the techniques Seiko taught her barely makes a difference. The dinosaur responds, knocks her off balance, and attacks again.

That's what makes this power-up interesting. It's not a simple strength boost. Bamora has the physical power to make a difference, but she's still learning to use it. The giant form is impressive, but the fight makes it clear that size means nothing without the right technique.

Aira finds the chimera dinosaur's weak point

With Bamora in trouble, Aira steps in before another attack seriously injures her. Aira isn't having an easy time either: neither her attacks nor the Evil Eye's have done much against the creature, and the situation is becoming desperate.

Aira notices something that could give them an edge. The chimera dinosaur isn't a normal animal. Its body is made of dinosaur bones forced together and held by flesh, which means its joints might not be as strong as those of a naturally formed creature.

It's a smart observation that gives the battle direction. Instead of continuing to hit the dinosaur's hardest parts, Bamora should focus on the joints and try to break them. Aira even points out that Bamora's previous attack was on the right track, despite not causing visible damage.

The best part is that Bamora doesn't give up after taking a beating. Once Aira explains the plan, she regains her determination and prepares to attack again. That fighting spirit, combined with her giant form, makes the final moments of the chapter genuinely exciting.

Chapter 247 turns Bamora's accidental transformation into more than just a fun surprise. It gives her a new role in the battle and sets up promising teamwork with Aira. The big question now is whether their new strategy will be enough to defeat the chimera dinosaur, or if the monster still has another nasty surprise in store.

The chapter is available on Shueisha's Manga Plus and Viz Media's official platform. Do you think the combination of giant Bamora and Aira will finally take down the chimera dinosaur? Let us know in the comments.
