Crunchyroll Manga arrives in the UK, Ireland, South Asia, and ANZ

The standalone manga app expands its availability, and Crunchyroll is preparing an anime hub for PS5 in spring.

Javier Fernández 8 October 2026

Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that its Crunchyroll Manga app is now available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and New Zealand. The expansion comes nearly a year after the initial launch in the United States and Canada in October 2025.

The manga app operates independently from the main streaming service. It is ad-free and available for iOS and Android devices. With this move, the company expands its reading catalog to eleven new countries, according to the statement reported by Anime News Network.

An anime hub for PS5

Alongside the expansion announcement, Crunchyroll confirmed it will be "easily accessible" in a new anime-focused space on PlayStation 5. That hub will arrive next spring and will also include anime games and anime-inspired titles.

The company has not detailed whether the hub will mean a direct integration of its streaming catalog on the console or if it will function as a showcase with links to the app. What is known is that the space will not be limited to video: games will have their own presence.

The anime space on the console will also include anime games and anime-inspired games.

A year of changes for the platform

The Crunchyroll Manga expansion comes at a time of restructuring for the company. On October 30, Crunchyroll will remove its main app from Nintendo Switch. The service will remain available on Xbox, PlayStation, mobile devices, media players, Smart TVs, and web browsers.

In recent months, the platform also raised prices across all of its subscription tiers in the United States in February and removed free ad-supported streaming in December last year. The strategy aims to consolidate the paid model on all fronts.

The manga app, ad-free and separate from the video service, is a bet on diversifying the offering beyond anime. Its arrival in markets like India and Australia expands the reach of a catalog that has yet to reveal title counts by region.

Crunchyroll has not confirmed whether the manga app will arrive soon in Spain or other countries in Europe and Latin America. The announced expansion is limited, for now, to English-speaking markets and South Asia. Next spring, with the PS5 hub, it remains to be seen whether the company will integrate reading and video into a single ecosystem.
