A Liar

A collection of six one-shot stories exploring love, loss, and hidden truths. In "Saigo ni, Kimi Dake wo," a man has been inseparable from his selfish childhood friend, always there to comfort him after breakups. When they fall off a cliff, the friend finally confesses his love as they face death. "Love Letter" follows an urban delinquent transferred to a local school, where he is stalked by a rude but pure local student. "My Most Beloved is Still You" centers on a supervisor and his subordinate in love, but the subordinate returns from a business trip unexpectedly overweight.

"Koi no Sokubaku" features a new recruit working overtime to gain his supervisor's approval, only to be framed by a colleague and mistaken for an industrial spy. In "Late Night Rain," a reclusive surgeon haunted by his lover's death from brain cancer is visited by a former patient who becomes his live-in housekeeper. The titular "A Liar" tells of a boy who loves his android pet, which returns only empty words due to lacking emotions. After a fire, the android sacrifices itself to save the boy, and its microchip reveals a hidden truth.
