Distant Dream

Chizumi, the young president of a sweets-maker company, is still grieving the death of his best friend Natsume. In an effort to honor his friend's memory, Chizumi decides to adopt Natsume's young son, Ibuki. As the years pass, Chizumi watches Ibuki grow into a teenager who increasingly resembles his late father. This resemblance stirs up painful memories, making it difficult for Chizumi to move on. Fortunately, his colleague and confidant Yatabe is always there to share the burden of the past and offer support.

One day, Ibuki confesses his love for Chizumi, throwing their relationship into turmoil. Chizumi must navigate his lingering grief, his sense of responsibility as a guardian, and the unexpected feelings that arise from Ibuki's confession. The story explores the emotional conflict between duty, memory, and the possibility of a new kind of bond.
