Tonari no Juunin

A collection of four short stories by Mariko Iwadate. In the title story, a young woman named Yumiko moves into a new apartment and becomes curious about her mysterious neighbor, a quiet man who keeps to himself. As she observes him from a distance, she begins to imagine a connection between them, blurring the line between reality and fantasy.

In "Saturday Park," a chance encounter at a park leads two strangers to share a brief but meaningful moment. "Yakusoku" follows a couple navigating the complexities of a promise made in the past. The final story, "Memorandum," explores the fragile nature of memory and relationships through a series of notes left behind.
