Hatoko Haruyama, a junior high school student nicknamed Poppo, lives with her mother in an apartment complex called Shiawase. The building is home to a colorful cast of residents: Hayato, a ronin student; Mizusawa and his daughter, who dream of becoming manga artists; and Midori, a single mother. Poppo has a crush on Hayato, but he seems to be interested in someone else.
As Poppo navigates her daily life among these eccentric neighbors, her feelings for Hayato grow, leading to a heartfelt and comedic story about love and friendship in the happy villa of Shiawase.
