In Taisho-era Japan, Tatsuhiko frequently visits his old high school friend Hayashi, now a university professor. During one of their conversations in Hayashi's study, Tatsuhiko brings up the latest social trend: hypnosis. Skeptical of its effectiveness, Hayashi dismisses the idea, prompting the two friends to conduct an experiment to test it.
When Tatsuhiko applies a hypnosis technique on Hayashi, his friend begins to behave in an unusual and unsettling manner. As Hayashi's strange actions escalate, Tatsuhiko must confront the unforeseen consequences of their experiment and the true power of hypnotic suggestion.
