Tamura Kouji returns to his hometown of Okayama to take over his father's car business after years away. Though he still carries memories of his former coworker Naoya, his family and friends welcome him warmly and invite him to a class reunion. There, he encounters a man who bears an uncanny resemblance to the person who once stole his first love away from him. This stranger is just as disagreeable as that memory, and Tamura finds himself immediately put off by his presence.
However, after a night of drinking, Tamura ends up bringing the man home in a drunken stupor. As they spend more time together, Tamura begins to notice small details that suggest there may be more to this man than his abrasive exterior lets on. The initial dislike slowly gives way to curiosity and perhaps something deeper, forcing Tamura to confront his past feelings and the possibility of a new connection.
