Prince Renge, the second prince of a royal family, is sent to a neighboring country as a collateral in a foreign relations deal. When tensions rise between the two nations, he becomes a virtual hostage under the tyrannical King Ouga.
Meanwhile, Homura, the third prince, has been in love with his younger brother, Airi, the sixth prince, since childhood. Airi was sickly back then, and Homura studied medicine to heal him, though with poor results. Now adults, they are lovers in name only, and Airi is no longer weak—but Homura still sees him as fragile. Airi decides to change that dynamic.
Elsewhere, Yuuri, the fifth prince, attempts to escape the castle and ends up on a pirate ship captained by Kuuron. From that moment, the young prince begins living aboard the vessel, assuming the role of the captain's "woman."
