Uiko has never forgotten the promise she made with Mako when they were children: if they became a couple in high school, they would kiss. Now that they are teenagers, Mako is the most popular boy in class, while Uiko sees herself as a plain girl with nothing special to offer. No matter how hard she tries, she cannot bring herself to be honest with him, and Mako already seems to belong to a different world.
