High school sophomore Itoshima was a star catcher who devoted everything to baseball, until an irrecoverable injury tore his one love away from him. Freshman Saitozaki expected his high school days to be the prime of his youth, but instead finds himself battling incompetent bus schedules, unsympathetic teachers, and punishments that put his life at risk.
When Itoshima crosses Saitozaki's path in a moment of need, strange new feelings arise in the younger boy. As the two navigate their harsh realities, they must decide whether fate is playing another cruel trick on them or if they can take destiny into their own hands and rediscover how to laugh and love.
