Rin Habikino, a transfer student, has always been troubled by the rumor that he causes the deaths of people who become close to him. Determined to avoid further tragedy, he decides not to make friends with his new classmates.
One day, a strange man covered in bandages approaches Rin with a warning: he is a death god and is about to become involved in battles against the opposing force of the Dark Arcana, the White Arcana. To defend himself, Rin must use his ability to control the dead.
