In a quiet village, a young woman named Momo lives a simple life, bound by the traditions of her family and the expectations of her community. Her world is centered around the magnolia tree that blooms in her garden, a symbol of beauty and transience. She finds solace in the company of her childhood friend, a boy named Kyo, who understands her quiet nature.
As Momo grows older, she becomes aware of the constraints placed upon her as a woman in her society. Her family arranges a marriage for her, forcing her to confront a future that feels predetermined. The magnolia tree, once a source of comfort, now reminds her of the fleeting nature of her own dreams and desires. Kyo, too, faces his own path, one that may lead him away from the village and from Momo.
