Chiharu and her husband Koji have purchased their dream home, only to be swindled by a dishonest builder. Struggling to recover their finances, Chiharu turns to pachinko as a way to earn money for a new start. Her growing obsession with the game begins to consume her time and energy.
Their neighbor, Kaneko, a blunt and nosy woman known as "Mrs. Caretaker," offers to teach Chiharu how to play pachinko properly. As Chiharu dives deeper into the world of gambling, she must navigate the risks and consequences that come with her new hobby, all while trying to save her family's future.
