Yuki Anno has just started high school, and everything seems to go wrong from the beginning. She is extremely nervous, and to make matters worse, she ends up in a different class from her best friend Jiu. Feeling unwanted, Yuki resolves to make new friends, but the prospect of facing so many strangers is daunting.
On her first day, a boy named Yuki Saeki, who turns out to be Jiu's cousin, warmly welcomes her. They begin exchanging notes on a loose leaf sheet of paper. As Yuki navigates her new school life, she considers becoming the manager of the football team, but doubts herself when she sees other girls who might be better suited. Through her interactions with Saeki and her determination to open up, Yuki starts to show people who she really is.
