Koisuru Kojiki

Koisuru Kojiki is a collection of five short stories based on ancient Japanese myths and legends, reimagined with a romantic focus. Each tale centers on a famous couple from the Kojiki, the oldest surviving chronicle of Japanese history and mythology, bringing their stories to life with a modern sensibility.
From the tragic separation of Izanagi and Izanami at the boundary between life and death, to the adventurous journey of Oonamuji and his encounters with Suserihime, the manga explores the timeless themes of love and longing. The stories continue with Yamasachihiko's underwater visit to the palace of the sea god and his romance with Toyotamahime, and the tale of Sahohiko and Sahohime, whose love is tested by political intrigue and loyalty.
The collection concludes with the legendary hero Yamato Takeru and the two women who loved him, Ototachibanahime and Miyazuhime. Through these interconnected narratives, Koisuru Kojiki offers a fresh perspective on classic myths, highlighting the emotional depth and enduring power of these ancient stories.
