Ichabod is a boy born to Mary and Eli, a lesbian couple who used artificial insemination to conceive. When Eli, the biological father figure, abandons the family, Mary raises Ichabod alone, but she resents him for being born male, calling him their greatest failure. Troubled by his mother's rejection, Ichabod cuts off his own penis with a pair of scissors and sets out on a journey to find his genetic father, whose identity is registered at a sperm bank.
On his odyssey, Ichabod becomes entangled with a gang of bandits called the Red Rose Friend's Club. He meets Guns, a top associate, and learns that the gang's leader is the lover of Magic Monsieur, the legendary bandit Ichabod believes to be his father. As he helps Guns and gets deeper into the criminal underworld, Ichabod uncovers the dark truth about his hero. A chance encounter with Kirico, a beautiful girl who claims to be Monsieur's daughter, forces Ichabod to confront his past and the meaning of family.
