On a remote island, a young boy named Taro lives with his family, struggling to survive in a harsh environment where the sea and the land offer little. His days are filled with hard work and the quiet presence of the island's fireflies, which glow in the night.
As Taro grows, he becomes entangled in the conflicts and secrets of the island's inhabitants, including a mysterious girl and a dark past that haunts the community.
