Hana no En

Hajime and his older brother Jirou run a small flower shop named Utage, but the business is struggling with few customers. In a moment of desperation, Hajime asks Jirou's friend Sou, a kadou (ikebana) teacher, if he would buy flowers from their shop. Sou offers a challenge: if Hajime can get Sou's younger sister Madoka to agree to the plan, Sou will become a regular customer. However, Madoka is not easy to convince.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Honami is about to move into a cheap, run-down apartment when she encounters two young men in front of a large, dying ginkgo tree in the yard. One of them leads her to her new place, but they discover that someone named Jiro-chan already lives there. As Honami meets her new neighbors, she uncovers the mystery of who Jiro-chan is.
