Gouman na Junai is a collection of interconnected stories about love and desire, each following a different couple as they navigate the complexities of their relationships.
In the first story, the secretive salaryman Hino is shocked when the charismatic Oikawa asks him outright if he is gay. Hino tries to avoid Oikawa, but the persistent Oikawa keeps pursuing him, leaving Hino to wonder if there is more to Oikawa's interest than a simple game.
Other stories explore relationships that begin in unexpected ways: an unemployed chef finds his neighbor passed out from hunger and offers to cook for him, only to have the arrangement end abruptly; two friends with benefits struggle with one-sided feelings complicated by a childhood friend; and a man buys coffee for a handsome businessman, only to suspect he is a substitute for someone named Hiroya. As these characters confront their own insecurities and the secrets of those they desire, they must decide if love is worth the risk.
