Shunsuke Aida, a notorious delinquent, is arrested for assault, battery, and kidnapping, earning him a three-year sentence in South Naniwa Prison. There, he finds the prison food bland and monotonous, a far cry from the good meals he used to enjoy with his friends.
To pass the time, Aida and his cellmates share memories of the best dishes they have ever eaten. Their conversations escalate into a secret competition held every Christmas Eve, where prisoners from all over the country gather to battle over the most coveted New Year's dish. The stakes are high as they vie for the ultimate culinary prize.
