Izumi can't stand his classmate and tennis teammate, Asakura. The reason is a comment Asakura made during practice: after Izumi won a point with his first serve, Asakura asked, "What are you so happy about?" Resentful, Izumi starts skipping practice.
When Asakura realizes his words caused Izumi to quit, he apologizes, worried about him. Behind that expressionless face, Asakura might not be so bad after all. As Izumi finds himself thinking about Asakura more and more, a refreshing first love begins to blossom between them.
