My Little Sister Can Read Kanji

僕の妹は漢字が読める

In the year 2202, Japan has become a land where moe culture dominates literature. Aspiring author Gin Imose and his little sister Kuroha travel to Tokyo to meet the famous writer Gai Odaira. While Gin hopes to learn from the master, Kuroha shows little interest in his orthodox style—until she reveals she can read ancient books written in kanji, a skill nearly lost to time.

This discovery challenges the very foundation of modern storytelling. As Kuroha delves into forgotten texts, she uncovers a world where books were about more than little sisters and clichéd scenarios. Her ability to read kanji sets off a chain of events that could rewrite literary history, forcing Gin and Kuroha to confront the question: what if Japan once had a richer, more diverse literary tradition?
