Bitter Chocolate Kiss is a collection of eight one-shots exploring different facets of love and human connection. In "Yasashii Tsuki Ni Dakarete," Fumiya has only recently come to terms with his true orientation but struggles with intimacy, finding it hard to accept himself. His persistent neighbor may hold the key to helping him overcome his fears.
Other stories include "Cross," where tattoo artist Jun meets Yuu, a young man who seems to crave pain, and Jun must decide whether to act on his wishes. In "Kimi ni Au Tame ni," a writer grieving the loss of his pet encounters a man who shares his dog's name. "Hajimemashite" follows Rei, who keeps being dumped by men who are only "bi-curious."
