Noda has always tried to be the perfect son, husband, and employee, conforming to the conservative expectations of his pious family. Ten years ago, he had a secret affair with a male acquaintance, Wakasugi, but ended it abruptly out of fear and shame. Now, Noda lives alone in his newly built house, his marriage over and no children to show for it.

Out of the blue, Wakasugi calls him, and the phone call reopens old wounds. Both men must confront the feelings they buried for a decade, passions that have simmered in loneliness. Noda faces a choice: remain in the closet he built for himself or find the courage to risk his heart again.
