Takashiro Shugo, a former police officer now unemployed and freeloading at a brothel, occasionally takes on detective work from his old superior. When a missing persons case lands on his desk, he discovers the target is Kohzuki Yura, a girl with whom he had an intimate relationship before being sent off to war.
As Shugo searches for Yura, a series of brutal murders erupts in the background. The killings strike closer to home, forcing him to confront the spiraling web of events and his own past.
